These two pieces were commissioned as a wedding present. The customer wanted the initials of the couple cut out on coins from the year they were getting married. The pieces were nicely presented in a wooden box to keep as a wedding souvenir.
I named this piece the Travellers Keyring, it was commissioned as an anniversary present. She wanted to give him a Keyring with a coin from every country they've been to together as a couple, Germany, Arab Emirates, Holland, Italy and England. cute...
As a pendant for herself, she wanted a mix of the Leo and Virgo zodiac sign symbols, cut out on 1989 bimetal coin. Not easy ah? but here is the result. I was quiet pleased with it.
A 21st birthday present. Her mom wanted to give her a coin with her birthyear, her favourite animal the cat, and the number 21 on it, I added the heart to complete the design.
A 60th birthday present. Its a Halfcrown from 1951 (year of birth), depicting the Glasgow coat of arms, it has a fish in the bottom, a tree on top with a bell hanging from it and a small bird at the very top. I'm still wondering how I managed to include all that in a coin!
Oh yes, of course footbal had a space in this section. This is the Liverpool football crest on a Penny from 1965, the year the team won the FA Cup for ther first time!
